“POW reminds us of our common humanity, the power of the Aloha spirit, and that all of our stories are, in fact, woven together. POW is about hope and possibility, not just for its residents but all of us willing to listen.”

Casey Johnston, a volunteer with Pu‘uhonua O Wai‘anae, joined the grassroots campaign to raise awareness and education about the innovative work happening at the village. With a passion for Design Justice and Design Thinking, Casey's involvement has centered on listening and learning from POW's community partners, village leaders, and residents. Inspired by the consistent themes she observed, Casey created a graphical representation of POW's community-first model. This graphic captures the magic of Twinkle's visionary leadership, the wisdom of the residents, and the core characteristics of service, kuleana, and aloha that defines daily life at the village.
